Attachment & Intimacy with God
A 6-Part Progressive Teaching Framework
Each seminar builds upon the other. This series may be presented as a keynote, one-day intensive, weekend seminar, or multi-week workshop.
Understanding Attachment Through a Biblical Lens
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” — Genesis 1:27Attachment is not merely psychological theory — it reflects divine design. This foundational session explores how being made in God’s image shapes our need for secure connection and how attachment patterns influence emotional health, relationships, and faith.
How Early Relationships Influence Spiritual Intimacy
“When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” — Psalm 27:10Early relational experiences shape how we perceive authority, safety, and love — including our perception of God. This session examines how attachment wounds distort spiritual intimacy and how Scripture reintroduces God as secure, faithful, and present.
Rebuilding Identity Through Secure Attachment to Christ
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God.” — 1 John 3:1Identity is formed in relationship. This session addresses internalized lies shaped by attachment wounds and restores identity through adoption, sonship, and belonging in Christ.
From Emotional Striving to Secure Dependence on Christ
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19Unmet emotional needs often fuel striving, people-pleasing, control, avoidance, and misplaced dependence. This session helps participants identify false sources of security and redirect emotional dependence toward Christ as Sustainer, not merely Savior.
Understanding the Process of Cleansing and Restoration
“And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.” — Exodus 25:8The Sanctuary reveals God’s structured design for restoration. More than architecture, it is a divine pattern of approach, surrender, cleansing, illumination, intercession, and communion.
Participants explore the seven elements of the Sanctuary and their connection to emotional and
spiritual renewal:
- The Gate — Entering through praise
- The Altar of Sacrifice — Confession and surrender
- The Laver — Cleansing and renewal
- The Table of Shewbread — Nourishment through the Word
- The Candlestick — Illumination by the Spirit
- The Altar of Incense — Intercession and intimacy
- The Ark — Communion, security, and restored identity
This session demonstrates how God provides a deliberate process for renewing the mind and restoring secure intimacy.
From Restoration to Abiding Union
“Abide in me, and I in you… I am the vine, ye are the branches… for without me ye can do nothing.” — John 15:4–5Victory is not self-mastery — it is abiding attachment. Jesus describes a continual union where life, nourishment, and fruitfulness flow from remaining connected to Him.
Secure attachment in Christ means:
- Stability when emotions fluctuate
- Strength drawn from Him rather than striving
- Identity rooted in union, not performance
- Fruitfulness flowing from connection, not pressure
- Dependence replacing independence
This final session calls participants beyond healing into habitation — a life sustained, anchored, and stabilized by abiding in Christ.
